IPL 2020 – Rajasthan Royals

Who would have imagined that a team with no star players would go on to win the inaugural edition of IPL but Rajasthan Royals proved everyone wrong.

Rajasthan Royals are a kind of team which always believe in building star players rather than playing with a star studded team. They made other teams believe that even a youngster can be your match winner, Here is our take in the final team of IPL – 2020 “Rajasthan Royals”.

Rajasthan Royals invested in players like Yusaf Pathan, Shane Watson, Ravindra Jadeja who performed well for the team and won games single handedly in the first few editions of the IPL. Indeed they invested in players like Steve smith, Sanju Samson, Jofra Archer who have served the team quite well from past few years. This year Rajasthan Royals have a young squad with U-19 players like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Akash Singh, Kartik Tyagi, Riyan Parag and they have already proven their worth at U-19 level.

Top Order

Rajasthan Royals have a good top order with players like Jos Buttler, Robin Uthappa, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Manan Vhora. Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal would be the perfect opening pair with left hand and right hand combination which most teams look for. Manan might not be in the playing XI for the first few games and might get chances later on, as we have Robin Uthappa at 3 which is the right position for him to build innings around other players.

Middle Order and Finisher

Rajasthan Royals have a strong middle order with Steve Smith at 4. Sanju Samson at 5 has a point to prove that he can be a choice of wicket keeper batsman for India. Ben Strokes at 6 with his All-Round abilities is a bank for any team he is playing for and Riyan Parag at 7 has proven that he can play that finisher role along with strokes. He also gives you a few overs of leg spin in the power play and in middle overs. As there is no clear information on the availability of Ben Stokes for this year’s IPL due to personal reasons, David Miller might get a chance in playing XI as a replacement of Stokes.

Rajasthan Royals has got a decent bowling attack. They got a variety In pace attack it has world class bowler like Jofra Archer leading the pace attack along with young U-19 sensation Kartik Tyagi Impressed everyone with his pace and wicket taking abilities. Rajasthan Royals have a never ending love saga with Left arm pacer Jaydev Undkat, this time he doesn’t have the pressure of a big price tag to affect his performance. Ankith Rajpoot and Tom Curren, Oshane Thomas might be considered as an options for the later half of the tournament. They also have decent spin bowling with Mayank Markende, Shreyas Gopal, Rahul Tewatia, along with part time bowlers like Riyan Parag and Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Player to watch out for : Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson

Best Playing XI

Jos Buttler (wk)
Yashasvi Jaiswal
Robin Uthappa
Steve Smith (c)

IPL 2020 – Kolkata Knight Riders

Hello everyone, the Clock is ticking up and just 3 days left for the start of IPL. Today we are going to present you our take on, one of the most popular team in the IPL “Kolkata Knight Riders”.

KKR’s journey till date in IPL has been so far so good, just like all the successful teams KKR has seen their Up’s and downs but the fate of KKR’s team has changed after the arrival of Gautam Gambhir. Despite facing criticism from the people of Kolkata for replacing Dada with Gambhir KKR has seen the taste of success under the captaincy of Gambhir. KKR has become champions in the year 2012, 2014 and reached play offs stage continuously in 2016 & 17. Once Gambhir had left KKR, Dinesh Karthik took charge as captain and took them to play offs in 2018 but ended up in the 5th position in 2019.

KKR team looks pretty strong in this year in all the departments. Let’s have a look at their strength and weakness.

KKR’s top order has attacking batsmen Tom Banton and Sunil Narine along with the class players like Rahul Tripati, Shubhman Gill and Nitish Rana looks pretty strong. KKR have also strengthened up their middle order by adding England’s world cup winning captain and currently one of the best white ball player “Eoin Morgan”. With Morgan coming in the team, it just takes a lot of pressure from Dinesh Karthik and Andre Russell in the middle order. This also rules out their weakness in terms of batting which is heavily depending on Dinesh Karthik and Dre Russ.

KKR bowling has comprised of extraordinary Pace Attack and Spin wizards. Their pace attack consists of Lockie Ferguson, Prasidh Krishna, U-19 sensations Kamlesh Nagarkoti and Shivam Mavi along with the Premium All-rounder Andre Russell. KKR has high hopes on Australian Fast Bowler Pat Cummins who has gone for highest price for almost INR.16 CR in this year’s auction. Their spin attack consists of Sunil Narine, Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy and Nitish Rana also gives you some good overs at the middle if necessary.
With Narine being not a mysterious spinner anymore and Kuldeep though picking up wickets could not able to control the run flow might cost them. For this very same reason, bowlers not performing up to the expectations cost their place in the play offs last year’s IPL.

IF they can overcome these problems they are very much in the contention of IPL this year.

Players to watch out for : Shubhman Gill, Eoin Morgan, Pat Cummins

Best Playing XI:

Sunil Narine
Rahul Tripati
Shubman Gill
Nitish Rana
Eoin Morgan
Dinesh Karthik
Andre Russell
Pat Cummins / Lockie Ferguson
Kuldeep Yadav / Varun Chakravarthy
Prasidh Krishna
Kamlesh Nagarkoti / Shubam Mavi

Hello everyone! Hope you all are eagerly waiting for the IPL 2020. Today we are going to present you our take on “Kings XI Punjab”.
If you look at the IPL history, along with the Delhi Daredevils (now changed to Delhi capitals) Kings XI Punjab is one of the most inconsistent team in the tournament.

Everyseason, if you look at the squad of KXIP they were always studded with the star players and match winners and yet they have failed to perform well. They have managed to reach the Knock out stage only in the year 2008 reached final in the year 2014.

KXIP do perform well in the beginning of the tournament but has the tendency to lose the momentum in the latter half of the tournament. There are two main reasons behind KXIP’s poor performance. One is that they were not able to build a core Indian bowling attack; they’ve always made changes in their team for almost every season which is why they’re not able to build a formidable bowling attack.

The other reason is due to lack of good captain, Unlike CSK had Dhoni and MI has Rohit who can lead in front and guide the players towards right path. They were never able to found themselves a good captain as they went on changing their captains for every two seasons, George bailey did a pretty good job in 2014 took the team to finals but then again after his poor performance in 2015 made him to axe out of the team.

Looking at the team this year, we can see that KXIP is trying to learn from their mistakes made in the past. They have added plenty of variety in their bowling attack with Mohammed Shami, Murugan Ashwin, Mujeeb ur Rahman along with the new buys Krishnappa Gowtham, Ravi Bishnoi, Sheldon Cottrell and the All-rounder’s Jimmy Neesham and Chris Jordan who can perfectly fit in the role of death bowler which KXIP is been missing for the long time.

KXIP batting looks immensely strong with KL Rahul, Chris Gayle, Mayank Agarwal and Karun Nair at the top-order. Nicholas Pooran, Jimmy Neesham, Deepak Hooda along with Sarfaraz Khan who had good domestic season last year and Glenn Maxwell coming back to the team gives an immense boost to them.Maxwell who had been stand-out performer for KXIP in 2014 in which they reached finals, wishes to recreate that magic again and help KXIP to win the IPL for the first time.

2019 has been very lucky for KL, he was in tremendous form for Team INDIA. Whatever he has touched everything has turned into gold be it wicket keeping, be it batting where he moved down to bat from top order to middle order or be it leading the team. He adapted himself in every role perfectly, that has been assigned to him and KXIP wishes to continue his good form in the IPL as they have appointed him as their Leader for this year. Hope KXIP persists with the KL as their captain for long period and does not make much changes to the Indian core players.

Players to watch out for: KL Rahul, Glenn Maxwell and Sarfaraz Khan.

Best Playing XI

KL Rahul
Mayank Agarwal / Chris Gayle
Sarfaraz Khan
Nicholas Pooran
Glenn Maxwell
Mandeep Singh
Jimmy Neesham
Krishnappa Gowtham
Mujeeb ur Rahman
Mohammad Shami
Chris Jordan / Sheldon Cottrell

IPL 2020 – Mumbai Indians

Hello everyone! we are only few days away for the kick start of what is going to be an absolute cricketing event.Today, we are gonna present you our take on the four time champion “ Mumbai Indians”.

Undoubtedly, Mumbai Indians is one of the most balanced side in the IPL. This team looks pretty strong in all the departments and it ain’t going to be easy to outplay them. Rohit Sharma who took charge as skipper in 2013 has impressed everyone with his amazing captaincy skills to win the maiden IPL trophy for Mumbai Indians. His ideas, decision making skills have contributed a lot in winning games for Mumbai Indians ..If we look at the statistics, they have this weird trend of losing games in the initial stage and then give a strong comeback in the must win matches. That sounds a bit strange , but that has been observed in most of the IPL seasons.

They’ve got abundant talent in the form of core players and some overseas biggies who are capable of snatching away the game from you in few overs. They’ve set new standards in the game irrespective of losing games in the initial stages. This team can give the opposite team nightmares and no wonder in saying they are the toughest team to defeat.

Batting has always played a significant role in winning matches for Mumbai Indians. With Chris Lynn joining the side this year, will add more power to the top order. MI will either have to choose Quinton de Kock or Chris Lynn in the playing XI. In case Lynn opens the innings with Hitman, we can imagine how destructive they both can be. They would mostly look to capitalise the powerplay overs. If this pair gets going then it is gonna be a tough time for the opponent. We all know how Rohit sharma can shift the momentum once he crosses his fifty mark and Surya kumar yadav at number 3 would have a good opportunity to play a long innings in case they lose early wickets.

Ishan Kishan at number 4 will also have a good amount of time to build partnerships and take it to the end. Mumbai Indians have a very strong finishing order with Pandya brothers and Kieron pollard at number 7. They’ve got ample amount of batting options and have a strong batting lineup till number 7. Few young Indian lads Ankul roy and Anmolpreet singh might get chances in the initial stage of the league and Rohit could experiment by shuffling the batting order.

◦ MI has got good amount of Pace and Spin options, Malinga’s absence this season is going to be a huge blow for Mumbai Indians. We all know how devastating Malinga can be and his experience has contributed quite a lot for the bowling department. Undoubtedly, Jasprit Bumrah has been the triumph card for MI. He can give you few early breakthroughs in the powerplay overs with a decent economy rate. Mitchell McClenaghan on the other hand can also contribute in the initial overs along with Bumrah. Rahul chahar is going to be the X factor for MI due to the slow pitch conditions in UAE. These pitches are expected to have a good turn and the spinners are going to be benefited. Pandya brothers can also contribute in the middle overs and are capable of giving few breakthroughs. All in all with a decent bowling unit MI have all the abilities to restrict to a decent score.

Best playing XI:

Rohit Sharma(C)
Chris Lynn/Quinton de kock
Surya kumar Yadav
Ishan Kishan
Hardik Pandya
Krunal Pandya
Kieron Pollard
Mitchell McClenaghan
Rahul Chahar
Jasprit Bumrah
Trent Boult / James Pattinson

Player to watch out: Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma has played a pivot role in winning games for Mumbai Indians. He is by far the only captain to win the most number of IPL trophies(2013,2015,2017,2019). The way he led the team in all seasons was amazing and his captaincy is one of the biggest assets and the way he backs players will amuse you.Lets see how Mumbai Indians are gonna perform this season, Will they make it 5th time?

IPL 2020 – Chennai Super Kings

With less than a week to the start of IPL 2020, the buzz is getting more around the cricketing world. Today we are going to present you our our take on Chennai Super Kings.

We all know Mumbai Indians is the most successful team in the IPL history but, when it comes to consistency Chennai Super Kings is the only team that made it to the knockout stage every season they played. There is nothing wrong calling them as “CONSISTENT SUPER KINGS”. They’ve always been very consistent, since they don’t tend to change their core team much and believes in sticking to the players until they deliver.

It’s quite astonishing to see a player like MS Dhoni getting emotional in a meet that was held in 2018 after the comeback of Chennai Super Kings. That just shows how close Dhoni is to the people of Tamil Nadu and CSK. Trolled as “Dad’s Army” for having players around 35-40 years of age in 2018 and went on to win the title in 2018, almost won in the 2019 season with so called Dad’s Army.

Top Order

Suresh Raina’s absence at No.3 who gives you 400 runs almost every season is a big loss for CSK and they have to shuffle the batting order a bit to fill Suresh Raina’s gap and young sensation Ruturaj Gaikwad who is scoring a lot of runs in the domestic circuit might be the good choice or Faf at 3 isn’t a bad choice at all, While Shane Watson and Murali Vijay can open the innings.

Middle Order and Finisher

CSK has a strong middle order which bats deep with Ambati Rayudu at 4, Kedar Jadhav, MS Dhoni and Dwayne Bravo to follow at five, six and seven. These three can shuffle their positions depending up on the situation to finish off the games. Sir Ravindra Jadeja at 8 can fire in and play some big shots at the end along with economical bowling, his gun fielding is an added advantage to any team he is playing.

Bowling Department

CSK had always relies mostly on their spinners, with all the games playing only in 3 stadiums spinners will come in handy. Though it lost the quality services of spin bowling with Harbhajan opting out of IPL 2020. CSK still posses variety in their bowling with the likes of Imran Thahir, Karan Sharma, Piyush Chawala and the left arm spinners Ravindra Jadeja, Mitchell Santner. They have decent pace attack with Deepak Chahar gives you 4 Quality overs of swing bowling along with Dwayne Bravo and Lungisani Ngidi bowling those crucial middle and death overs.

Players to watch out for:

That would be indefinitely MS Dhoni, All eyes would be on MSD about how he is going to lead the team and how he is gonna play??  As he will be stepping into the ground after long gap since 2019 world cup. We should also need to watch out for young sensation Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Best Playing XI

Shane Watson.
Murali Vijay
Ruturaj Gaikwad / Faf du Plessis.
Ambati Rayudu.
Kedar Jadhav.
MS Dhoni.(C)WK
Dwayne Bravo.
Ravindra Jadeja.
Deepak Chahar.
Imran Thahir.
Lungisani Ngidi.

IPL 2020- Royal Challengers Bangalore

Hello everyone! Hope you all are excited to gear up for the IPL 2020. Today we are going to present you our take on one of the most entertaining team in the IPL i.e.; “Royal Challengers Bangalore”.

When it comes to providing entertainment to the fans, RCB stands tall above all the other teams in the IPL. Though RCB has never won an IPL trophy, fans have never lost the hope on their team. RCB has the most loyal fan base among all the other teams in IPL.  Remaining as runner- up’s in the year 2009, 2011, 2016 and reaching the play-offs in the year 2015 have been their best performance till date.

The strength of RCB has always been their batting; they have the strongest batting line-up of all the teams in the IPL. For any team having two batting powerhouses playing together is just like a dream which indeed has come true for RCB. Watching Virat and ABD playing together is just a treat to eyes.

Every time when you look at the RCB team on paper they just look incredibly strong but when it comes to performing on the ground, they haven’t really lived up to their expectations. The main reason behind this is their weak bowling attack. We have seen so many times in the headlines that Virat, ABD wining the games for RCB but they have been only very few instances that we can just count on our fingers that bowlers winning the matches for RCB.

RCB team management has also been very poor, Unlike CSK, MI and DC they haven’t been really able to build a strong core of Indian players. They have constantly kept on changing the players for every season and even in the auction they were always going after the batsmen instead of good economical bowlers which is really a poor tactic. Even they always tend to shuffle batting order which is not required to done. Shuffling the batting order has helped neither team nor the players.

Best Playing XI

Josh Philippe/ Aaron Finch
Virat Kohli (C)
AB De Villiers (WK)
Moeen Ali
Gurkeerat Mann Singh
Shivam Dube
Chris Morris
Washington Sundar
Navdeep Saini
Umesh Yadav
Yuzvendra Chahal

RCB have tried to tick their weak spots by filling those gaps with inclusion of genuine All-rounder’s like Chris Morris and Isuru Udana.  As we’ve seen so many bizarre things happening around us in this year lately, Hope RCB lifts the trophy this time “Ee Sala Cup namde”.

When was the last time you saw a movie in a theater ??

Well let me guess ?? when things were normal before COVID-19 i’e.; March 2020. Due to the rapid increase of covid cases in India the Government had to shut down theaters indefinitely as a precautionary measure. This left the audience no choice but to stay home and watch sitcoms/movies through OTT. With theaters being closed, most of the film makers have released their movies on various OTT platforms.

The OTT traffic has spiked up so much that few services had to lower their bit rate so as to have a seamless experience to the users. Which raised so many questions in our mind that” Is OTT going to be our future?”, “Can we ever be able to go back to watch movies in theaters normally?”.

Most of the people seem to like the way how OTT has paved the way for a revolution in Entertainment sector. While few movie buffs feels that they are missing the “aura” of movie experience. Of course, home experience is no way closer when you compare it to a theater experience. Be it picture quality or sound, Mass Audience all together will amaze you to the whole next level! Few people complain about the hike in ticketing prices, which is why they want the movies to be released digitally going forward. Though this might be hassle free for the audience, it is the distributors and theater owners who are gonna have a tough time. People who are mainly dependent on cinema halls are the ones going to suffer.

Lately, Government proposed to reopen cinema halls with 25% occupancy, proper sanitization and safety measures. It is unlikely to expect people show up at the cinemas considering the COVID-19 consequences. This isn’t going to help theater owners either, It is tough to tell what it is gonna be like in near future. Let’s hope everything gets normal as early as possible and we can enjoy watching the movie in theaters with the family, friends and of course pop corn.

IPL 2020 – Delhi Capitals

As we are getting close to IPL-2020, excitement is getting higher in the cricket fans to see their favorite teams and players playing after six months break due to Covid-19 pandemic.

Hope you all have read our last IPL 2020 teams review and here is our take on Delhi Capitals.

Team which always has the potential to win the cup from the inaugural edition of IPL but fails miserably. Ever since they changed the name from “Delhi Dare Devils” to “Delhi Capitals” along with management team has done quite well in the last two editions of the IPL.

Delhi has always been a team that encourages the young talent with the likes of young players like Shreyas iyer, Rishabh Pant, Prithvi Shaw, Sandeep Lamichane, Kagiso Rabada and keemo paul.

Delhi Capitals has a strong Indian core both in the batting and bowling departments. They are the only team that would make a strong playing XI without any foreign players and has potential to beat any team in the IPL 2020. Icing on the cake, it also has quality foreign players.

Top Order

Delhi Capitals has a strong batting lineup with top order consisting Shikar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw as opening pair. In No.3 position Delhi has many options with Shimron Hetmyer, Ajinkya Rahane, Marcus Stoinis or even the captain himself to play. All these players have the capability to open the innings and play in any position till No.6 which gives the team more flexibility. With all the attacking players in the team addition of a class player like Rahane provides a much needed stability for Delhi.

Middle Order and Finisher

Even if the top order fails to score runs at the top, Delhi Capitals has a strong middle order with Shreyas Iyer at 4, which is an ideal position for him to bat as he usually bats at No 4 for India in limited overs format. Then comes No 5, 6 and 7 Delhi has the option of playing Hetmyer at No 5 or Stoinis if they are looking for an all rounder, which isn’t a bad option at all. Pant at 6 can play the finisher role or they can even shuffle the position with Stoinis depending up on the situation and Axar Patel at 7 can tonk the ball and gives you 4 overs of quality left arm spin.

Bowling Department

In addition to left arm spinner Axar Patel, Delhi Capitals has a nice variety in their bowling department with wrist spinners like Sandeep Lamichane, Amith Mishra and finger spinner Ravichandran Ashwin who can deceive any batsman with their spin. These Spin blowing options might come handy in the later half of the tournament as pitches will slow down and assist spinners more.

Delhi has a very good fast bowling lineup with the likes of Kagiso Rabada leading the attack along with the indian fast bowlers like Ishant Sharma who had a good IPL last year, can chip in with few tidy overs at top and in the middle overs. Mohit Sharma and Keemo Paul can come handy as well with their cutters and slower balls which can be frustrating to the modern batsmen who like pace on the ball. Avesh khan and Harshal patel both bowled well in the last season.

Delhi Capitals is the only team in the IPL 2020 with minimal weakness and with abundant options but, too many choices to make might also go wrong sometimes.

Player to watch out :

Can Rishab Pant be consistent and finish games for Delhi to make a come back in India playing XI

Best Playing XI

1.  Shikhar Dhawan
2. Prithvi Shaw
3. Ajinkya Rahane
4. Shreyas Iyer (C)
5. Marcus Stoinis/Shimron Hetmyer
6. Rishabh Pant(wk)
7. Axar Patel
8. Ravichandran Ashwin
9. Keemo Paul /Sandeep Lamichane
10. Ishant Sharma
11. Kagiso Rabada

IPL 2020- Sun Risers Hyderabad

Who would have thought that we will be seeing our favorite cricket stars on the ground battling against each other, Ever since the COVID-19 pandemic from March we haven’t seen any cricketing action taking place but gradually we are seeing the cricket making come back recently with West Indies and Pakistan touring to England. Taking some inspiration of Bio-Bubble environment from England, BCCI is now all set to host IPL-2020 in UAE.

With just 10 days left to the start of IPL we bring you our own take on each IPL team. We’ve tried to be as unbiased, neutral as possible and this is purely our opinion and yours could vary. Please feel free to comment your take below and express your opinion. We will start with our very own home team Sun Risers Hyderabad.

SRH is one of the successful team in the IPL; it has won the IPL trophy in the year 2016 and reached the playoffs in 2013, 2017, 2018, 2019 seasons, let’s just look into the team attributes.

SRH has always been a strong team when it comes to the bowling. With Bhuvi leading bowling department they have abundant resources of pace and spin variety consisting of Rashid Khan, Shahbaz Nadeem, Khaleel Ahmed etc.; and has strong batting line up with Warner, Williamson, Bairstow, Manish.  Although SRH has strong bowling and top order but middle order has always been a concern and on top of that they were never really able to find a proper finisher. In this year IPL 2020, SRH tried to fill those gaps with talented players like Vijay Shankar, Mitchell Marsh, Mohammad Nabi, Abdul Samad, and Abhishek Sharma.

Boon to SRH:

Strong and Devastating top order with Warner, Bairstow, Manish and Williamson.
Spin duo with Rashid and Nabi, who can create trouble to opposition in slow turning tracks of UAE.
Young talented Hitter whom we can keep an eye on “Abdul Samad”
Recent batting performance from Rashid can chip in few good overs at death.

Bane to SRH:

Heavily dependent on top order batsmen Warner and Bairstow.
Can lose the quality services of All-Rounder’s with Warner, Bairstow, and Williamson included in Playing XI.
Lack of proper finisher down the order.

Best Playing XI:

David Warner
Johnny Bairstow
Manish Pandey
Vijay Shankar
Wriddhiman Saha
Abdul Samad
Mohammad Nabi / Mitch Marsh
Rashid Khan
Bhuvaneshwar Kumar
Sandeep Sharma / Sid kaul
Khaleel Ahmed/ T. Natrajan

Hope this year’s IPL brings joy and entertainment to all the cricket fans across the globe.
